Hey! My name is Christina and I’m a 24 year-old booklover from Toronto, Canada.
As a kid, I never really read. Sure, I read Goosebumps and The Bailey School Kids, but that’s about the extent of my reading adventures. Of course, when I was around 13 the internet became a “thing”, and Habbo Hotel took over my life. There, I learned how to code websites and began making fansites for Habbo (Booya, I even became an official fansite for Habbo.ca, hehe.), so I had no time nor interest in reading. The only reading I did was to see what my friends were typing to me online.
HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET INTO READING?
I’m not sure how it happened, but I stumbled upon The Lunar Chronicles in 2014 and decided to give it a whirl. That, needless to say, sparked my love for books immediately, and I needed more. Thank you, Marissa Meyer, for that. I will forever be in debt to you. Along with that, I discovered Goodreads and have been addicted since. There’s no turning back!
MY LOVE FOR WRITING
Ever since I can remember, I would come home from school and grab a stack of blank white paper, fold it in the middle and staple the fold. I’d draw the cover, then on the inside on I’d write on one side and illustrate the other. Every day was a new book, a new idea, so you can imagine how many unfinished books I had in stacks around my grandma’s house. My mom took notice and started collecting some, where I still have them to this day. 🙂
I’ve always loved writing. Am I the best? No. Do I have any training or background in writing? Definitely not. But I would one day love to, because it’s always been my absolute dream to see my books on the shelves of stores around the world.
I am currently in the process of writing a YA Fantasy, Sci-Fi novel about a girl named Rayne who is teleported to this ethereal world, just as she’s about to commit suicide. You can imagine what kind of horrible, political, and heartbreaking adventures ensue, and I hope to one day get it published. You can read all about my novel, including the first two chapters here.
I am currently working as a graphic designer and freelancing web design on the side.
